Zen and the Art of Raw Vegan Sushi

December 23, 2008 | Articles, Featured | Share

I recently took a few photos of what I [typically] eat as far as sushi goes. Below is my version of Raw Vegan Sushi. The only thing not raw here is the miso soup, but then again I’m not 100% raw vegan just yet. I tried in the past but it’s too hard for me, especially when the weather is cold.

Rolling your own sushi nori is not so hard. Here’s an easy tutorial on how to make your own. Just use raw nori sheets and raw foods.

Ingredients for the Raw Vegan Sushi Rolls

  • Dried Organic Nori Sheet
  • Avocado Slices
  • Radish Sprouts
  • Spinach or Lettuce Leaves
  • Cucumber

…and a touch of simplicity!

If you are “high raw” you can cheat a little by using veganaise to hold the rolls together. Veganaise is a vegan version of mayonaise, so it’s not really “raw”. Other than that you can use a raw nut dip as a paste.

Raw Vegan Sushi is extremely tasty, and you won’t even miss the sushi rice, believe it or not. It also tastes very clean, and healthy. And providing a good clean energy boost.
